All right... I'm ready for summer now. Sizzle 2 is finished.
Pattern: Sizzle by Wendy Barnard, also available at The Garter Belt
Yarn: Cascade Pima Tencel
colour #7013 - Teal blue
Needles: 5mm Clover bamboo circular
Modifications: I lengthened the body by knitting 5 inches before starting the dart decreases instead of 4. It hits me at the top of the hip now and is a much more flattering fit than Sizzle 1.
While it was blocking I was less then pleased with the neckline depth and seriously considered taking it apart (even though each arm band took 3 tries!) and ripping down to make it deeper. I'm glad that I didn't though. This is a nice wearable neckline.
If I were to knit this again (don't hold your breath), I would continue the arm decreases to about 15 stitches instead of 21. I'm not in love with the cap sleeve effect that I'm getting. It's not bad, just that I think I would prefer a narrower shoulder.
I am forcing myself to finish the boring socks for my education assistants so that I can gift them at the end of June. When those are done I'm going to do my Sockapalooooza socks. Right now I'm thinking of joining the Monkey Socks bandwagon and using the Cider Moon Blizzard yarn in "Jackie O".
