Just a quick post dear friends.
I wanted to let everyone know that I spent the weekend resting and knitting Ariann. I think I might have convinced the alpaca that it really does want to be a pretty lace cardigan. Saturday, Hubby Darling had to go in to work. The kids and I just hung out until lunch. Then, like magic, they all found playdates! #1 down the block to plot Halloween strategy with his buddy, #2 a few blocks away to play with his friend, and #3 to her friend's house to watch a movie. After everyone was dropped off, I decided to drop in on my friend Morgan to see her new house. She reads the blog and I figured she would understand about the lack of a housewarming gift and just be happy to see me. Morgan calls it "her new house". Really though, it's just a place to put her stash! I'm not kidding. There are yarn stores that don't stock as much koigu as Morgan does! She is such a total sweetheart though. I didn't leave empty handed. After a visit with Morgan, her stash, her darling son, and her sweet new dog I went home expecting to find husband. Nope. Still had almost 2 hours on my own.
Sunday was much the same, with the addition of freezing temperatures and snow. I didn't bother getting dressed at all. #2 went sledding while #1 and #3 went with Hubby Darling to do the groceries. I knit pretty much all day, with breaks for laundry folding as required. Ariann is now up to the 2nd increase row and going nicely. Good alpaca.
For those of you who have been wondering... I am recovering right on schedule. Which is to say that I have reached the "incredibly disgusting discharge" stage. The biggest pain right now is the one in my ass from not being able to get through to the gyne's office to schedule a follow up appointment. Sigh...I remember when the word "stirrup" conjured visions of horses and the scent of leather
