Tonight was Knit Night!! New convert to the knitting fold is Robin. Robin has been doing a student teaching round in phys. ed. She learned to knit 2 weeks ago. She wants to make mittens. Bless her, she tried knitting with my 3.5 mm dpn's!!! Didn't do so bad either. Jenny rescued her though with the promise of a mittern pattern knit flat. Way to go Jenny! Claudia is still plugging away at her poncho. This chick really needs a FO under her belt. So she started a belt! Sue planned to work on the baby hat with earflaps she's making out of Baby Ull for her daughter, but she only brought 2 colours instead of all 5. Darn the luck - no choice but to buy more yarn and needles!
I found the coolest stuff! On sale too!!
I bought 2 skeins of black and 2 skeins of a lovely dark red. It's worsted weight yarn from New Zealand. The label says 10-ply, but the actual yarn looks a little felted with minimal twist. I think it will make fantastic mittens.
It really does say 30% possum 70% merino.
See him there on the left? Cute little guy huh.
It just occurred to me that this would make a good tittie. Doesn't Dame Edna refer to everyone as Possum?
Sue looked at me as I oohed and aaahed over possum and silk and said, "You have a disorder."
I have to correct her. It's not really a disorder. I have a Fiber Fetish.
